Morgan Health is focused on driving improvements in employer sponsored health care in the U.S. The business unit is investing $250 million of JPMorgan Chase & Co (JPMC) capital in companies that are driving change in the health care system. As a strategic investor, Morgan Health works closely with portfolio companies to grow their market share and impact. The business unit is also focused on improving quality, affordability, and addressing health disparities for JPMC employees, as well as the 180 million others covered by employer-sponsored health care in the U.S. This includes piloting new care models, publishing data insights, and advocating.
Morgan Health is seeking a Vice President – Partnerships and Business Development, to drive engagement with a variety of external stakeholders, including other innovators, employers, industry associations, investors and various other stakeholders to advance the Morgan Health mission. The position will report into the co-head of Morgan Health Ventures and have cross-functional responsibility across the group.
Strong candidates will have familiarity with the commercial health care market and investment landscape, and experience with business development, including partnerships. Candidates must be highly organized, adept at working with senior leaders, and results-driven, and have excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and refine engagement strategies for a wide range of industry players (e.g. measuring effectiveness on initiatives) – employers, business trade associations, payors, providers, innovators, investors, and others – in collaboration with other members of the Morgan Health team.
- Build and cultivate strategic, positive relationships for the firm with a network of healthcare decision makers, understanding their business challenges and connecting them to portfolio companies and partners to help them solve these challenges. Implement processes to collect data from this network, make it actionable, and execute on it at scale for the benefit of the firm.
- Develop long-term relationships with portfolio companies and connect them to the network through introductions, meetings, corporate briefings, events, and conferences. Understand the value proposition across a multifaceted portfolio and help navigate these companies as they try to engage and work with the broader healthcare ecosystem.
- Lead the Employer Investor Group, which includes a group of large employers who are investing in health care companies; work in this area includes relationship management, understanding investment priorities across participating organizations, and investment diligence.
- Leverage the Morgan Health and JPMorgan network to support ventures team with thesis development, identification of new investment opportunities, and diligence of potential transactions.
- Be a thought leader, maintain up-to-date knowledge on industry and technology trends, as well as attend and speak at industry events/conferences. Gather, track and analyze all market development activities within Salesforce.
- Invest in the future of Morgan Health, helping to drive continued improvement of systems, processes and infrastructure.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's degree required, with 7-10+ years of professional experience.
- Ideal candidates will have a background in consulting, investments, strategic partnerships, and/or business development.
- Experience developing and driving engagement approach/process that is congruent with organizational strategy and priorities.
- Strong familiarity with commercial health care market and investment processes; understands clinical, operational and financial drivers that impact healthcare organizations with a particular focus on products and services for the employer marketplace.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate well with others and drive tangible results.
