Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Associate Revenue Cycle Analyst.
In this role, the successful candidate as the Associate Analyst's responsibilities include querying systems to identify potential issues and requesting systematic solutions across multiple claims. On a monthly basis, claims are analyzed to pinpoint root causes of unbilled reasons, payor rejection responses, and denial prevention opportunities to expedite cash flow. Additionally, the analyst will conduct claims efficiency analyses using EPIC and Tableau reporting tools. To qualify, you must have a Bachelor's degree, two years of working experience, familiarity with Microsoft Office Products, as well as demonstrated critical thinking and technical analysis skills.
Job Responsibilities:
Revenue Optimization: Effective hospital billing directly impacts our revenue stream. The Associate Analyst is responsible for identifying opportunities for automation, denials prevention, and process enhancements, to expedite payment cycles, and accelerate reimbursement.
Compliance and Risk Mitigation: Healthcare billing is subject to numerous regulations and compliance standards. The Associate Analyst is responsible for conducting data analysis on areas of billing compliance risks (e.g., telehealth) and analyzing reports to facilitate rebills and corrections.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyzing billing data, identifying trends, and generating insightful reports. These analyses will provide valuable insights to help us make informed decisions and implement strategies for improvements such as:
- Improving clean claim rates to accelerate cash flow.
- Transitioning edits from ePREMIS to EPIC to reduce the number of user touches, improve efficiency, and expedite claims handling.
- Collaborating with the Denials Prevention Committee to analyze payer denials to determine trends and identify root causes and correct them.
- Evaluating and escalating eligibility, authorization, billing, editing, and rejection inaccuracies to implement upstream solutions.
- Executing data mining and conducting in-depth accounts receivable analysis.
- Maintaining data integrity when manipulating data files for analysis purposes to ensure data does not become corrupted, through conscientious use of tools and a system of checks and balances.
- Assisting in providing constructive feedback and developing training tools.
- Supervising and training other analysts as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in a healthcare related field.
2-3 years experience in a hospital revenue cycle operations or healthcare technology related field.
High level of analytical/communication skills, and computer proficiency, including (but not limited to) applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio
Preferred Qualifications:
3-5 years experience in a hospital revenue cycle operations or healthcare technology related field.
Skilled in data extraction, manipulation and analysis
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $51,243.96 - $61,311.82 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
