The University of Houston Andy and Barbara Gessner College of Nursing at Katy is seeking an outstanding candidate with the potential for exceptional clinical practice and excellence in teaching. Mental health and/or maternal newborn clinical and teaching experience are a plus. The anticipated start date for a qualified applicant for a 9-month non-promotion eligible, non-tenure track, benefits-eligible Professor of Practice faculty position is as early as August 2024, the search will continue until the position is filled.
Faculty responsibilities include: Ongoing curriculum development and evaluation; classroom and in person direct patient care clinical instruction in the undergraduate program using on-site, simulation, on-line, and distance education strategies; some travel; participation in college committees; service and academic advising. 1. Master's degree in nursing from a professionally accredited school of nursing is required.
2. National certification in clinical specialty area required.
3. Candidate must possess unencumbered license as a registered nurse in Texas.
4. Minimum 2 years of clinical experience required.
