Position Overview:

Job Description:
- Participates in initial protocol development or review, study budget preparation, consent form preparation, IRB submission and reporting, study subject recruitment and consenting process, all study visits and documentation on CRF’s and source charts, study drug and/or device accountability, study monitor visits, study sponsor queries, compliance with regulatory standards with all study operation, materials and records.
- Delivers timely, compassionate and appropriate clinical research services to subjects, as well as members of the community at large.
- Recruits meritorious Phase II and Phase III clinical research studies with associated funding appropriate to the patient population.
- Assists in completion of grant applications in coordination.
- Consults with hospital, clinic and community nurses, pharmacists, dietitians, physicians and other health care providers concerning clinical research issues.
- Participates in marketing and research subject recruitment activities within assigned area and with community-based organizations and healthcare professionals.
- Collaborates with other clinical departments as appropriate in development and implementation of clinical research studies.
- Ensures that routine and priority tasks are completed within established departmental time frames.
- Mentors and fosters a constructive teaching environment that helps students and new teammates build confidence in their skills, knowledge and abilities.
EDUCATION:
- Other: Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
- RN-Registered Nurse of California
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years recent relevant experience
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Verbal and written communication skills for frequent and challenging contact with physicians, employees, patients and patient families; requires patience and compassion.
- Analytical skills for interpretation of clinical studies, research and other related materials.
- Knowledge of Federal and State regulations and International Guidelines related to Good Clinical Practices in clinical research.
- Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Knowledge and competence with regard to nursing theories, concepts and practices; medical terminology; anatomy; and physiology.
- Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precaution policies, best practices regarding patient care and privacy, and changes in local/state/federal regulations.
- Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.
- Knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook), Electronic Health Record.

Pay Range is $83.32 to $109.98 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled.
