Job Abstract

The City of Oxnard (pop. 200,000) is located on the California coast between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. The Public Works Department is supported by an annual FY2023-24 budget of $290 million and approximately 500 staff. The Parks Manager reports to one of the Department’s three Assistant Public Works Directors, supervising 35 FTE’s and a budget of $16.2 million.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on and engaged manager with experience handling and overseeing landscaped areas, urban forestry, and park programs for a comparable organization, complemented by experience in facilities construction, repair, and maintenance, budget development and oversight, and contract administration.

An associate’s degree, 5 years of maintenance and operations including 2 years of supervisory experience is required.

Salary range for this position is $70,931.95 - $135,644.50 DOEQ (+3% July 2024) plus competitive benefits. Closes 11:59pm Sunday, June 23, 2024.
