What you will do at Harris County Precinct 4:
Harris County Precinct 4 is seeking an Assistant Manager for Hockley Community Center. This position assists the Community Center Manager in coordinating operations and activities, supervising and scheduling use of the community center, providing community services, and creating recreational and educational opportunities for participants of all ages. The Assistant Manager also ensures that priorities and expectations are being met for participants.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Support and assist the Community Center Manager.
Serve as second-in-command to the Manager and in their absence when designated.
Supervise administrative and facilities assistants.
Help create a friendly, open, and safe environment at the center.
Develop and create new programs, offerings, and curriculum for community participants.
Assist in maintaining programs and lead classes as appropriate.
Establish friendly working relationships with regular participants.
Develop community partnerships that may provide workshops, classes, programs, lectures, seminars, and/or entertainment for center participants.
Maintain records.
Communicate Commissioner Precinct 4 functions and resource to participants as appropriate.
Attend professional development programs, such as writing development and safety.
Occasionally attend meetings with department leadership.
Set up and break down rooms.
Maintain cleanliness of the center when facilities personnel are unavailable.

Requirements
Education:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Experience:
Three (3) years of professional related community center or customer service experience
Some college or an associate’s degree with two (2) years of related experience
Licensure:
Valid Texas driver’s license with a good driving record.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must always promote a professional and positive image of Commissioner Precinct 4 through personal appearance and public relations.
Must be willing to work flexible hours and exhibit a willingness to accept direction.
Be able to evaluate community center offerings on an ongoing basis to provide relevant learning opportunities.
Must be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work at multiple locations or any department or location as needed.
Be honest, trustworthy, respectful, flexible, and demonstrate sound work ethics.
