Introduction to the role:
Join us at AstraZeneca as the Director of Hematology Marketing, a key role in our Oncology Business Unit. You will be at the helm of HCP marketing for a cornerstone brand in our Hematology Franchise. This role offers the opportunity to transform the lives of people living with cancer by leading in patient experience and care. Based at our Gaithersburg, MD campus, this role will lead a team of marketers and engage with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and implement a robust commercial strategy for our asset.
Accountabilities:
Your role will involve developing and evolving the near-term HCP brand strategy for a Hematology asset, including creating a robust brand strategy plan, overarching HCP marketing strategies, launch plans, competitive readiness plans, and key selling messages. You will also be responsible for developing the HCP launch strategy and operational plan for future indications in both leukemia and lymphoma. Collaboration with cross-functional groups for the development and implementation of strategic and execution plans is a key part of this role.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex constructs clearly and concisely.
- Proven ability to work in a matrixed environment and work with a Global team
- Strong business acumen skills
- Ability to lead without authority.
- High capability at working collaboratively, thinking strategically, and operating effectively in a rapidly evolving and competitive marketplace.
- 5-6 years experience in brand marketing in the pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry with launch experience and in-line HCP marketing experience
- 3+ Oncology sales experience
- 3+ years of US Oncology experience in one or more of the following: managed markets, brand marketing, brand strategy
- 3+ years of Oncology Brand Management experience
- People management experience
- Agency of Record Management experience
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Hematology U.S. Oncology experience
- Advanced Degree in relevant field (MS, MBA, PhD, MA)
- 3+ years of brand strategy
- Understanding of landscape including Community oncology and Hospital oncology dynamics
- Knowledgeable of customer segments and impact on the Oncology Ecosystem including but not limited to GPOs, Payer landscape, Specialty Pharmacy stakeholders
- In-depth Marketing experience (developing brand strategy, performing positioning, messaging, segmentation, targeting, managing ad agency, providing direction on annual budget planning, etc)
- 8-10 years experience in brand marketing in the pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry
- Experience across multiple promotional channels (Personal, Non-Personal and Digital, Patient marketing, Omni-channel, etc)
- Exhibit a high degree of clinical acumen and some financial acumen
