| Posting Summary | Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Staff Assistant for the Child Health Program within the School of Nursing. The Staff Assistant performs a wide variety of administrative support services within a Child Health Unit (CHU) in a CP&P Local Office. The Staff Assistant is the central point of coordination for operations within the CHU. Under the direction of a Regional Nurse Administrator, the Staff Assistant also assists and supports nursing staff in the clinical activities of the unit.
Among the key duties of this position are the following: - Provides administrative, analytical, computing, and staff support for the CHU.
- Completes assignments and tasks requiring data collection, information gathering, analysis, data entry/retrieval, data base maintenance, and forms/graphics generation, utilizing a variety of software packages.
- Screens calls and provides information in accordance with organizational policy.
- Receives and appropriately handles incoming correspondence, makes appointments, schedules meetings, and responds to inquiries.
- Develops and implements controls for work assignments under the direction of the RNA.
- Maintains essential records and assists in the maintenance of all service activity files.
- Prepares and/or compiles data for special reports and analyses, monthly reports, program evaluations, and other related reports within prescribed guidelines.
