SUMMARY
The Guest Ambassadors are the first point of contact for each guest that visits. They will ensure a dedication to the highest quality of customer satisfaction delivered with a sense of graciousness, pride, fun, and company spirit. With a professional and welcoming demeanor, they will greet all guests including reservations and walk-up visitors. They will use their knowledge to lead the guest to the best possible experience to fit their needs while keeping the overall daily availability top of mind. They will manage the flow of traffic while also being a resource to their teammates.
What You Will Do:
- Guest Ambassador and Consumer Relations (60%)
- Greets and checks-in all visitors. Including both walk up customers, and those with a reservation.
- Curates the experience to meet the customers’ requests/special needs.
- Accurately tracks reservations and customer information.
- Manages seating for all guests including special requests, special occasions, large groups, and multiple experiences. Ensure appropriate tables are reserved and signs are placed on tables.
- Pour guests an opening splash when appropriate.
- Ensures guests understand property layout and experience.
- Provides guests with anything that they will need for experience. Including but not limited to menus, pricelists, water, birthday gift, special occasion sign, chairs, pens, club forms, blankets, heaters etc.…
- Constant communication with other guest ambassadors, wine educators, and management to ensure the flow of tables will meet our guest need and reservation numbers. Ensures wine educators and managers are aware of any special requests or concerns.
- Provides general tourist information.
- Reservation management- making reservations, booking walk ins, and adjusting calendar to meet daily needs.
- Takes orders, schedules reservations, responds to general inquiries and performs daily sales using the POS system.
- Multi-tasks while remaining focused on providing excellent customer service.
- Reports positive and negative guest feedback to Managers.
- Occasionally performs data entry in support of wine club or web sales.
- Cash register management and reconciliation.
- Tagging and stocking of weekly cheese case order.
- Anticipates guest needs.
- Retail Sales Support (30%)
- Supports tasting and tour areas with glassware, waste removal, wine tasting tools and literature
- Assists with preparing the Retail Sales Room for guests. Ensures the proper opening and closing procedures of the Sales Room and Winery are carried out in a thorough manner following the checklist provided by management.
- Maintains a stocked cheese case and retail space throughout the shift. Assist guests in the tasting room with retail and food purchases.
- Keeps workspace including warehouse, staff bathrooms and breakroom clean.
- Regularly checks guest bathrooms multiple times per shift. This includes both indoor and outdoor restrooms. Cleaning and restocking all bathrooms as needed.
- Warehouse/Inventory- Maintains orderly warehouse space including breakroom. Keeps wine and merchandise stocked in tasting room. Creates wine and merchandise displays in the tasting room. Accurately samples out wine for pours, donations, and breakage.
- Supplies- Assists in supply monitoring and inventory. Notifies manager of low stock items. Restocks supplies where needed in the tasting room, bathrooms, warehouse and breakroom.
- Patio Space- Ensures patio and parking lot are free of all trash. Blow off patio and wash as needed. Wash cushions and umbrellas as instructed by manager. Clean metal and wooden tables with appropriate cleaning supplies. Assist in displays including flowers, and seasonal displays.
- Retail Sales (10%)
- Operates By the Glass station with service of wine glasses, self- paced tasting and bottles to consumers while continuing to provide excellent customer service and winery education.
- Ensures that the correct wines are packaged, and the appropriate POS materials are included with all transactions
What You Will Need:
- High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 1 year of hospitality, customer service or event support experience.
- Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
- Skilled in writing simple correspondence.
- Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.
- Skilled in carrying-out simple instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Required to be at least 21 years of age or older.
- Required to work holidays, evenings and weekend’s (Saturday or Sunday) at various hours.
- Lift and move up to 50 lbs.
What Will Set You Apart:
- Associates degree; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 3 years of hospitality, customer service or event support experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Experience in wine industry.
- Experience in Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- Skilled in the use of MS Outlook and MS Excel at a basic level.
- Excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills, especially attention to detail.
- Experience writing routine reports and correspondence.
- Skilled in conflict resolution.
