Kelly Government Solutions is hiring for a light industrial manufacturing engineering technician on a government contract with our customer in Goleta, CA. This is a contract to hire opportunity.
Job Description: Performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment
Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process
Works with engineers in conducting experiments
Handling and managing fragile composite materials
Bond, prep, and bonding of composite structures to metallic fittings
Notate usage, traceability, pot life, and out time controls on all adhesive materials used
Report data and interface with other employees and departments
Tooling preparation and release application
Utilize measurement tools such as calipers, rulers, and tape measures for fabricating hardware
Reading and understanding manufacturing blueprints and shop planning
Assists in maintaining overall shop appearance and cleanliness
Required:
Candidate should be mechanically inclined
Experience with specialty harnessing and soldering, low level clean rooms, communication with inspectors, engineers, etc.
Experience working with small mechanical sub-assemblies
Experience interpreting mechanical drawings for instructions
Ideally will need to have some sort of aerospace work experience
Ability to interpret engineering notes
