Job Abstract

ASM Global's SAVOR, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities and food and beverage has an excellent and immediate opening for two Catering Sales Manager at the Long Beach Convention Center.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000

The Catering Sales Manager will manage all Food & Beverage Catering activities for events by performing the following duties:

Plans and organizes all catering functions provided on sales orders.
Conducts cold calls to secure new business.
Executes all catering functions, banquet services, and booth service.
Confers with food preparation and other personnel to plan menus and related activities such as dining room, bar and banquet operations.
Investigates and resolves food quality and service complaints.
Reviews financial transactions and monitors budget to ensure efficient operation and expenditures to include labor.
Other duties may be assigned.


Supervisory Responsibilities:
During an event, carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASM Global policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; coordinating issues with Operations Managers in order to help Human Resources implement disciplinary action. Addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's Degree (BA) in Food & Beverage Management or related field preferred
Minimum 5 years experience in management level position in Food & Beverage or training
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Prior supervisory experience preferred

Excellent organizational and planning skills
Strong customer service orientation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Other Qualifications:
This position will work with limited supervision and will require the ability to interact with all levels of staff including management.
Requires ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours.
