ITA is seeking an Assistant Program Manager to join the team in Washington, DC.
Please note this position is contingent upon successful contract award, expected Summer 2024.
Responsibilities
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Program Manager to support critical projects and initiatives within Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The Assistant Program Manager will work closely with the Program Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects, ensuring alignment with CBP objectives and priorities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of CBP operations and mandates.
Assist the Program Manager in developing project plans, schedules, and budgets in alignment with CBP goals and objectives.
Coordinate project activities, resources, and stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project outcomes, and work with the Program Manager to develop risk mitigation strategies.
Monitor project risks and take proactive measures to address and mitigate them as needed.
Assist in managing project budgets, resources, and expenditures to ensure effective utilization and compliance with funding requirements.
Track project expenses, review financial reports, and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies.
Monitor project progress, milestones, and performance metrics, and provide regular updates to the Program Manager and senior leadership.
Prepare and deliver project status reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate project status, risks, and issues effectively.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelors or higher degree in finance, accounting, business, or related discipline is required.
A Project Management Professional (PMP) or other professional certification is required.
Experience:
Twelve (12) or more years of project management, business process re-engineering, financial management and/or related experience.
Eight (8) years of experience in a supervisory or team lead position for high complexity multi-task projects of.
Minimum of eight (8) leading and providing technical direction identifying improvements needed to ad hoc and standard financial management or operational processes.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to conduct detailed research and analysis of technical and cost data.
Ability to read and interpret management policy, regulations, and directives.
Ability to work effectively with a group or independently.
Ability to manage effectively complex projects that facilitate executive-level decision-making.
Possess extensive knowledge in Budget, Financial Management, Business Process and Transformation, and Modeling
Proficiency using the current version of MS Suite used by CBP.
Minimum of seven (7) years of CBP experience preferred.
