We provide the fundamental building blocks to improve and preserve performance of the Salesforce's products across 1st party and public cloud substrates. Salesforce leverages many open source technologies, including big data, machine learning, no-SQL database, container and Kubernetes to architect and implement our services, in our role we identify and remediate Salesforce products/infrastructure performance issues. Our products' massive complexity requires our software engineers to be highly adaptive to new technology and methodologies, and having the strong ability to deliver performant software services under pressure.

Our team works within the software engineering organization and owns the holistic review and remediation of performance on the Salesforce CRM product. We believe passionate, creative, and motivated people can improve the Salesforce experience for our customers. Our team is the voice of the customer around how performant the salesforce application is.
As a member of a growing team you share the responsibility for ensuring that the salesforce software engineer team delivers performant and customer-centric software. You will have the opportunity to explore cutting edge open source and proprietary technologies to meet the ever changing needs.
You will need to understand and utilize services that will run expressive rule systems, correlation systems, and data analysis systems for data scientists and exec leadership to make decisions on the future of salesforce CRM products.
Responsibilities
You will advocate for the performance of our cloud products. You will influence the performance planning, validation and reporting on performance readiness.
You will evangelize for team practices that contribute to a performant system.
You will be working with the software engineering teams who create our products on different devices to understand and eliminate bottlenecks
You will analyze performance characteristics of the parts of our system from the Public Cloud to the device software which affect the member experience.
You will understand the experience of our customers and how best to improve it as salesforce continues to expand around the globe.
You will work with our external technology partners on optimization strategies for our workloads.
You will collaborate with numerous engineering teams such as the Mobile engineering teams.
What makes you a good fit:
You are curious about how and why things work the way they do. You bring that curiosity to everything you do and use it to navigate all the options for solving problems to find the best answer. You like to understand problems and puzzles where you might not initially have all the data but you can find it using tools and techniques you develop.
You have experience with performance analysis and tuning of web-based or mobile applications at web scale. You can develop analysis tools or visualization of real world application and network performance.
You like to use your ability to collaborate to run cross-organizational projects. We are a very collaborative group and you look forward to working with your peers on different challenges.
You have in-depth knowledge of 1 or more public cloud offering i.e. AWS, GCP and AZURE.
You are able to work out of the San Francisco Salesforce Tower 10 days per quarter.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $192,900 to $323,400.
Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
