The next Sr. Catering Manager will be responsible for being the lead catering sales performer to assist in the property team in optimizing total catering performance. The right leader will be able to teach, lead and assist in managing the catering operations within the sales department while working closely with the Director of Sales, General Manager, and others.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:
Actively prospect/solicit and qualify new business for the hotel.
The primary focus is wedding sales with a strong influence on social events.

Negotiate Food Beverage rates, guest room rates, meeting room rental, and function space and/or hotel services within approved booking guidelines
Accurately produce and/or review all catering contracts and/or banquet event orders
Work closely with other hotel departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clients
Arrange and conduct special events, site inspections, and off-site presentations for potential clients
Attend industry events/networking meetings to obtain new business, and also keep a pulse on industry trends, etc.
Act as a liaison between client and operating departments to ensure a successful meeting and to generate repeat business
Acknowledge all guests and respond promptly to their needs, however busy and whatever time of day.
Ensure unresolved incidents are reported to Manager/Supervisor
Familiarity with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
Assist, as needed, in the completion of required performance appraisals
Contribute to the team's success by accomplishing tasks and assisting with projects as needed
Maintain knowledge and compliance with departmental policies, service procedures, and standards
Availability during peak operating times, i.e.: Weekends, Holidays and Special Events
Work as a team member to ensure our guests have the best possible experience
Understand company's emergency procedures and be able to apply them when necessary
Report any incidents, property damage or injuries immediately to Manager/Supervisor
Attend department meetings and training sessions as necessary
Stay abreast of industry trends
Contribute to team/company engagement efforts
Proficient with MS office
Perform other duties as assigned by Director
JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

5 years demonstrated Catering Sales experience in a hospitality environment
Previous supervisory experience preferred
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in relevant field preferred
