The Career Exploration & Development Center (CED) is looking to hire an Employer Relations Liaison to help support our efforts to cultivate new, and expand existing, relationships with employer and alumni partners to identify quality internship and employment opportunities for Oberlin students. The position will help support the development of outreach strategies to alumni, parents, and friends of Oberlin College, as well as fellow students, showcasing the outstanding resources of the CED Center. The Employer Relations Liaison will also serve as an ambassador for on-campus and virtual employer events including information sessions, interview days, internship/career fairs, and others. The Employer Relations Liaison reports directly to the Associate Director for Employer & Alumni Engagement.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Help vet and approve job and internship opportunities in Handshake
Coordinate logistical resources (room reservations, room setup, tech needs, etc) for on-campus and virtual employer events and provide any required support prior, during, and after events
Be an ambassador for employers during on-campus events, greeting and directing them to the event location, and providing any hospitality assistance they require for the duration of the session(s)
CED uses Handshake for employers’ events, including job and internship postings; willingness to learn how to use Handshake effectively.
Assist the associate director for employer and alumni relations with special projects and other duties as assigned
Raise awareness of the Career Exploration & Development Center across campus by creating posters and social media and presenting to student organizations and academic departments
Support the programmatic efforts of the Career Exploration & Development Center
Facilitate employer events as needed
Qualifications
Qualifications: ? Passionate about diversity, equity, inclusion & accessibility (DEIA) work ? Ability to work well independently and as a member of a team ? Strong organizational skills and demonstrated reliability and responsibility ? Flexible and positive attitude ? Excellent written and oral communication skills ? Comfortable communicating with alumni and business leaders from all levels ? Enrolled as a student for the 2024-2025 academic year
Preferred Qualifications: ? Interest and/or experience in any of the following areas is highly desirable: outreach and engagement with students and outside organizations/employers, creating compelling digital outreach materials, data management ? Experience designing posters/flyers and other graphic marketing materials ? Experience with Digication ePortfolio development
Expectations: ? Participate in orientation training at the beginning of the 2024 Fall Semester ? Participate in DEIA training with CED staff ? Support efforts to maintain professional clothing closet ? Occasional workshop/event coverage ? Work a maximum of 5 hours per week
