The Laboratory Automation Engineer position supports the Oncology R&D (Research & Development) Biologics Engineering divisions with a focus on the implementation, integration and data management relating to robotics and high-throughput systems.
Education, Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Essential
· Must have experience and skills in creating, modifying and troubleshooting laboratory robotics/automation scripts.
· BS/BSc with 5 years of relevant experience or MS with 2 years of relevant experience in a scientific (biochemistry, molecular biology, etc.), engineering (chemical, computer, mechanical, etc.), or computational (computer science, etc.) discipline.
· Mastery of a laboratory automation instrument (i.e. Hamilton, TECAN, PerkinElmer, etc.), high throughput analytics (i.e. plate readers, flow cytometers, etc.) and enabling laboratory automation tools (i.e. capper/decappers, plate seal/peel, tube labelers, automated barcode readers) is essential.
· Must have time management and organizational skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
· Ability to identify opportunities to train self.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable
· Experience contributing to a science driven team setting.
· Experience automating high-throughput, traditional bench-scale, or manufacturing systems.
· Familiarity with bioprocess development and experience working as a bench scientist.
· Experience in programming or database management.
· Certification training with 1 or more automation platforms (Venus, EVOware, WinPrep, etc), integration software (Green-Button-Go, Cellario, Momentum, etc.), coding languages or computer aided design platforms.
