Job Abstract

The Department of Corrections, Training Academy is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, self-motivated person with the required experience to work as Corrections Food Service Instructor. As a Corrections Food Service Instructor, you will function as lead worker by assigning, participating in, and reviewing routine and specialized tasks performed by inmates in the areas of pre-preparation, production, service, and baking. You will ensure proper control over inmates by enforcing custody and security regulations, and inspect all food service areas, equipment, and food for conformance with established safety and sanitation standards.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 40 hour work week.
• Work hours are 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday - Friday
• This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of experience in food preparation, production, or service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar large-scale food production operation; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirement:

• You must successfully complete the required basic training in Elizabethtown, PA.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• You must pass a background investigation.
