Position Overview
Core duties include Maintaining and Managing up-to-date lab inventory,
Compounding Flavors, Operating Spray Drier, Fulfillment of Sample request, general lab work and maintenance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely handling Aroma Chemicals
- Maintaining and managing up-to-date lab inventory
- Ordering materials as needed
- Repacking Materials
- Preparing and fulfilling internal and external sample requests
- Shipping Samples
- Setting up Sensory evaluation panels
- Accurately Compounding Flavors
- Running Spray Drier
- Assisting and Maintaining sanitation and lab organization
- Keeping accurate lab records and data
- Other tasks as required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of twelve (12) college credits/CEUs preferably in Chemistry / Biology OR in lieu of college credits, 2 years in Food manufacturing environment or lab and knowledge of food safety
- Proven ability to safely handle and work with aroma chemicals
- Proven ability to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment at all times
- Able to work at a lab bench for 8 hrs
- Proven ability to follow instructions
- Solid math skills including the ability to work accurately with formulas, ratios, percentages, parts per million and decimals
- Must possess strong teamwork capabilities
- Ability to work in a challenging and fast paced environment with constantly changing priorities
- PC skills required - Experience operating in a Windows environment, managing files and handling data.
- Professional communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution.
- Ability to take instruction / direction from multiple groups
- Ability to be self-directed and motivated.
- Ability to lift 10 pounds continuously, 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
