Summary:
The Senior Accountant performs all functions of accounting which includes general ledger maintenance, financial reporting. This role is responsible for filing appropriate tax returns, maintaining the integrity of the accounting system and related financial records. The Senior Accountant reconciles accounts, participates in the annual audit process, and maintains the fixed asset property ledgers. This role abides by generally accepted accounting principles and implements process improvement and customer service initiatives for various entities of the Summa Health System.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Formal Education Required:
a. Bachelor s Degree in Accounting.
2. Experience & Training Required:
a. Two (2) years related professional experience in health care or private industry accounting system.
3. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
a. Demonstrates excellent analytical skills and knowledge of various computer systems.
b. Ability to maintain good working relationships with all levels of personnel, auditors, bankers, government agencies, board members and various healthcare related organizations.
c. Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
