It is the highly talented people at ITW who drive success through new products and customer-driven solutions.Job DescriptionBasic Function:This is an onsite everyday position at 1141 Harbor Bay Pkwy, Alameda, CA 94502, USA.Software/Firmware Development for New and Existing Ionization and Process Monitoring Equipment.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop and support C, C++, and C# Software/Firmware for embedded and desktop applications.Develop, support, and maintain test fixtures, software, and calibration equipment built to Simco-Ion specifications.Develop and/or interpret equipment specifications, complex drawings, and schematics.Review board schematics to ensure proper functionality.Troubleshoot firmware vs. electrical issues, hardware, and software, during PCBA development/testing.Conduct product operational testing and control-loop behavior and performance utilizing data loggers, oscilloscopes, meters, etc.Provide support to global service centers and factories in troubleshooting and resolving hardware/software and system problems.Experience working in a lab environment.Support the Company's continuous improvement initiatives, particularly as related to product quality.Other duties as assigned.Only Local Candidates, willing to work on-site full-time, and legally eligible to work in the US without Visa Sponsorship will be considered.QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesProficient in C, C++ and C# Firmware/Software Windows© development (IDEs, debuggers), using Microsoft Development tools.Good code organizational skills including version control, flowcharts, and code commenting.Good Understanding of Windows Scripting.Good Understanding of embedded firmware development, knowledge of MicroChip’s Atmega and Atxmega Microcontrollers a plus.Strong electrical engineering fundamentals: Discreet Digital and Analog Circuit Design, including sampling theory, filters, op-amp, control, voltage multiplication, and fly-back high voltage power supplies a plus.Good Understanding of serial communication, RS485, RS422, RS232, SPI and I2C.Good Understanding of serial communication protocols Modbus (RTU, ASCII), a knowledge USB and Ethernet a plus.Good Understanding of PID Feedback and Control (both hardware and software).Proficient with schematic capture and PCB layout design tools.
