Overview

Responsibilities
Recurring Tasks:
- Diagnose and repair electrical problems
- Diagnose and repair sewer problems
- Move office furniture
- Aid the IT department in re-locating audio visual equipment
- Setting up of tables, chairs, and any other items needed for events and maintaining campus vehicles
Periodic Tasks:
- Unclog drains
- Repair broken locks
- Replace refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, and garbage disposals
- Repair/replace leaky faucets, toilets, and other household related problems.
- Repair roofs and floors
- Painting, concrete, and asphalt work
- Maintenance and repair of landscaping equipment
Projects:
- Minor construction, and installing sprinkler system throughout the campus
- Striping parking lots
- Relighting campus buildings
Qualifications
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR RELATED EXPERIENCE: - Level 3 -H.S. diploma or G.E.D.&/or job related exp.
REASONING COMPETENCY: · Level 3 - Competent · Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. · Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. LANGUAGE COMPETENCY: · Level 2 – Competent · Ability to read & interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. · Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, students, clients or employees of organization. MATHEMATICAL COMPETENCY: · Level 2- Competent · Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. OTHER REQUIRED SKILLS: · Knowledge of basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical skills.
