Job Overview
The Research Assistant is a member of a research and clinical team that addresses health disparities in cancer risk and survival and contributes to the Georgetown University mission of social justice and health equity.
They support multiple cancer epidemiology studies in the recruitment and data management of human subjects at Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center.
As well, they work as a part of a multidisciplinary team spanning multiple institutions to assist in designing and implementing protocols that enable epidemiologic and clinical research - and ensuring records and regulatory documents are maintained.
Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation
Reporting directly to the study’s Principal Investigator and to a project coordinator, the Research Assistant works with other research assistants and recruiters to enable data and sample collection, and is expected to contribute to weekly and monthly research meetings.
This position has been designated as On-Campus. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University. Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree in public health
- 0 to 2 years of experience – preference for coursework or work experience in cancer epidemiology or clinical cancer management
- Ability to show a track record of practical experience in study regulatory management, data management, electronic medical record abstraction, as well as to demonstrate exceptional organization and communication skills
- Familiarity with REDCap or other database software and statistical software (R, SAS, Stata, SPSS)
