The Customer and Digital Organization is responsible for transforming the grocery experience by harnessing the power of digital technologies. We seek to offer customers an easy, exciting, and friendly ecommerce shopping experience through the invention of personalized and localized digital experiences for our 34 million plus weekly customers.

The Merchandising Product Management Department has an opening for a Principal Product Manager - Merchandising. This position is located in Pleasanton, CA (preferred location) or in Dallas, TX (on exceptional basis only).

Position Purpose:

Albertson’s Companies is looking for people who are passionate about re-imagining the grocery and food space by harnessing the blended power of science and art to service our customers by providing relevant products at right place and right time. The Merchandising Product Management team has responsibility to build best in class connected end user experiences and tools across all 4 Ps of merchandising to improve associate productivity, NPS, data quality and seam less distribution of data within the enterprise with and end objective to provide value to omni channel guests across 2200+ stores and digital channels.

This person will lead the product management for “Cost Pillar” and report directly to the Sr. Director of Product Management. She/he will define the product vision and roadmap for “Product” sub pillar to achieve the business KPIs. She/he will be responsible for collecting and interpreting user research and data, conceiving innovative products, creating a robust product roadmap, and managing the product lifecycle. The right candidate will be a strategic and ambitious visionary with the proven ability to deliver products that create impact and deliver exceptional value to our associates, vendors partners who are deeply focused in serving our guest shopping omni channel. This leader should be highly motivated to succeed and influence his/her team and stakeholders to do so, in an approachable manner, that engenders trust and confidence at all levels across the organization.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. As a Principal Product Manager, you'll play a vital part in shaping the Cost Management process to ensure supply chain efficiencies and build data integrity across merchandising, supply chain, procurement and finance.
2. You are responsible for your product end to end to drive value to Albertson’s Enterprise and Customers shopping omni channels.
3. You don’t stop at vision and building product, will take the product to the market (end users) for successful adaption, open to learn the feedback and improve.
4. You'll will be required to challenge the status quo and push the boundaries across process and technology, to test, develop and implement disruptive new ideas and opportunities producing value.
5. You are responsible for fostering healthy stakeholder relationships, while being comfortable to challenge to find viable and valuable solutions in short spurts while furthering longer strategic solution investments.
6. You are the catalyst to drive cross functional alignments for your Product area, establishing the product vision, and execution of roadmap along with in merchandising, and other enterprise functions: digital, marketing, SCM and finance stakeholders.
7. You own product backlog and prioritization, managing expectations, dependencies, and resolve blockers coming your way in pursuit of value realization through the product your team are building.
8. You are in the trenches along with your direct and extended teams on day to day basis to identify challenges, root causes, then solution and hypothesize for continuous process and product improvements.
9. You will be spending 25% in product strategy definition and alignment, 75% in product execution

The salary range is $150,900 to $211,260 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.

Qualifications:

1. To be successful in this role, you must have a strong customer obsession, strategic mindset, critical thinking, bias for action, data savvy, visual storytelling, technical proficiency and comfort to alternate between modern cloud native tech stacks to legacy mainframes and SaaS.
2. Must have Retail Merchandising and/or Supply Chain knowledge, being an SME in Pricing/ Promotions/ Allowances/ Cost Management domain knowledge is an added advantage.
3. Must have deep experience of building and launching complex custom merchandising and/or supply chain product platforms for a Fortune 100 companies.
4. You are driven by passion to solve challenges in way that it will create an competitive advantage to business in serving our omni channel customers.
5. You are someone who can Think the big picture but not afraid to also roll up sleeves to solve what's right in front in short duration while keeping focus on longer term strategy and value.
6. You should have demonstrable track record for innovation and produce value at cross sections of people, process and technology, with empathy for end users.
7. You would have embodied the Agile philosophy by its intent, always iterating and improving on the process with an purpose and not just for sake of adhering to the ceremony.
8. You are highly analytical with the ability to traverse between strategic business decisions and their quantitative implication.
9. You are a strong Oral and Visual communicator who can help dissect and visualize the complexities in simplistic fashion.
10. You are comfortable to operate in the complete spectrum of product and program management, be the visionary as you set the course and be the navigator as you execute the vision.
11. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, engineering, business, or related. Masters Preferred with preference to MBA.
12. Minimum of 8+ years' experience in product management, management consulting or technology
