Reporting to the Metal Seals Segment Leader, the Solutions Engineer - Applications II is responsible for product design, application development, technical assistance, and manufacturing development for metal sealing products. This individual will provide technical link between customer, sales, quality and manufacturing.

Essential Functions:

Oversees new product development from material determination, sample fabrication and subcontractor development through manufacturability trials and in the development of new products and their transition to routine production.

Researches and recommends changes to manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and/or reduce costs, increase product quality, or provide greater personal and/or environmental safety.

Provides technical support to manufacturing to address production problems and technical assistance to customers through phone interaction or direct visits.

Recommends and implements methods to increase the quality of services. Provides initial fabrication cost estimates.

Manages files and drawings inventory

The ideal candidate will have:

A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics or equivalent. A Masters Degree is preferred.

3+ years’ experience in a mechanical engineering environment or equivalent.

Understanding of metallic seal applications and forming methods.

Proven ability to design, manage, and implement projects of a technical nature.

Experience working closely and collaborating with customers.

Able to operate independently and as part of a team.

Demonstrated research and problem solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, written, verbal and technical writing.

Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’ wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position which is $79,500.00 to $123,400.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $87,400.00 to $135,700.00. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
