The Department of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences at the University of Virginia is seeking a tenure-ineligible Lecturer to join its clinical and research faculty within the Institute of Law, Psychiatry, and Public Policy (ILPPP). The ILPPP is an interdisciplinary institute that involves faculty from the School of Medicine and School of Law, providing forensic training and consultation to the Commonwealth of Virginia and beyond, and providing forensic psychological evaluations through the training clinic.
This limited .20 FTE position is intended to strengthen the ILPPP’s training programs. The incumbent will conduct evaluations in the training clinic while mentoring fellows in forensic psychology and forensic psychiatry, and any other trainings. The incumbent will provide some lectures to trainees, and assist with the ILPPP’s forensic training courses for practicing forensic psychologists and psychiatrists. Ideally, the candidate will help coordinate the forensic psychology fellowship experience across the ILPPP and Western State Hospital.
Candidates must have a PhD/PsyD in Clinical Psychology. Because this position involves supervising forensic fellows, and other assistance in fellowship training, a history of completing a formal postdoctoral fellowship in forensic psychology is required. Given the ILPPP’s academic mission, preference will be given to applicants who have a record of research and publication in forensic psychology or related disciplines. Candidates must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia by date of hire.
