The Associate Research Engineer for Radiometer is responsible for a variety of research laboratory tasks and experiments.
This position is part of the Research and Development (R&D) department located in Carlsbad, CA, and will be onsite. At Radiometer, our vision is to improve global healthcare with reliable, fast, and easy patient diagnoses.
You will be a part of the R&D Sensor Team and report to the Director, R&D responsible for supporting a variety of laboratory tasks (specimen prep, imaging analysis, execution of design of experiments management of consumables. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Perform sensor characterization using aqueous solutions.
- Perform sensor membrane characterization and image analysis using analytical equipment (ie. Scanning Electron Microscope, Fluorescent Imaging microscope)
- Assist with product testing in support of analysis, trouble-shooting and improvement of existing products.
- Assist in experiments involving the development of raw material and process specifications.
- Operate and maintain standard and specialized laboratory equipment.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- BS or equivalent in Biology, Biological Sciences, Laboratory Science or similar field, preferred
- 0 - 2+ years of laboratory experience
- Good written and verbal communication skills
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Drafting or updating internal documents such as manufacturing procedures, test procedures, and protocols.
- Experience consolidating and analyzing test data

The salary range for this role is $75,000 - $85,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
