The University of Nevada, Las Vegas is a public land-grant research university in Paradise, Nevada. The 332-acre campus is about 1.6 mi east of the Las Vegas Strip. It was formerly part of the University of Nevada from 1957 to 1969. Our mission is for UNLV’s diverse faculty, students, staff, and alumni to promote community well-being and individual achievement through education, research, scholarship, creative activities, and clinical services. We stimulate economic development and diversification, foster a climate of innovation, promote health, and enrich the cultural vitality of the communities that we serve.
