Institute for Community Living, Inc.
ICL is a New York based, non-for-profit, human service agency, which provides integrated help to members of our community who are in need of trauma-oriented, recovery-oriented, and person-centered care. We serve 10,000 adults, veterans, children, and families annually within our communities. Our dynamic counseling programs, community residences, treatment and advocacy services provide individuals diagnosed with serious mental illness, substance abuse, or developmental disabilities with the support they need to achieve recovery and move towards independence. For the last 30 years, ICL has broken new ground and helped transform the lives of individuals all over New York. We created the country’s first residence designed to reunify homeless mothers living with serious mental illness who have been separated from their children. With 2,300 individuals currently sleeping under an ICL roof every night, we help clients to achieve recovery and receive the help they need, while improving our communities. Today, ICL is at the forefront of innovation and saving lives. We offer 100 different programs serving individuals with varying degrees of need.
