The Akron Board of Education announces an opening for a College Access Program Manager, Job Code 071, TS 522 (260 Days), Salary Range TBD. Collective Bargaining Unit – none. This is a School Employees Retirement System position.

Qualifications:
Required: Must be met at the time of application except where noted:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
In-depth knowledge of the district focus
Demonstrated excellence in writing and communication
Adept at building and sustaining relationships
Three years’ experience in one or more of the following:
Supporting students and families with College Access
High school or college enrollment and matriculation
Navigating student information systems at the local or state level
Desired:
Use technology to organize data and display to allow for decision making regarding curriculum, instruction and assessments;
Knowledge of College and Career Academies of Akron;
Knowledge of professional learning communities and effective team meetings;
Experience in grant development and implementation;
Ability to communicate effectively with administrators, staff, parents, students and community;
Commitment to use best practices and research-based college and career access programming
POSITION DESCRIPTION
1. Data Collection, Analysis and Management
Administer, manage and support various aspects of state mandated ODDEX submissions.
Provide reports and data analysis regarding higher level course completion and access, and district report card measures.
Utilize the district’s student information system and Microsoft Excel for advanced reporting and queries.
Coordinate professional development regarding district assessment policies, procedures and guidelines.
Collaborate with the Technology Services department regarding district EMIS data and accountability.
2. College & Career Access
Plan, implement and advance college & career programming across the district.
Serve as district liaison with community agencies and universities to coordinate services for school youth.
Act as liaison with school staff and business community to provide guidance and leadership for College Access.
Plan, coordinate and implement relevant workshops for staff, students and families.
Manage and support various aspects of College Credit Plus (CCP), Career-Technical Assurance Guide (CTAG), post-secondary articulation agreements and Accuplacer assessments.
Provide on-going professional development regarding College & Career Academies access services.
3. Curriculum, Instruction and Technology
Participate in the development of course curriculum and graded courses of study utilizing the appropriate standards as defined by the Ohio Department of Education.
Develop strategies to increase access to and success in higher level courses both at the high school and college level.
Collaborate with the District’s Technology Service department and various technology vendors to ensure support access to IHE systems technology necessary for college coursework.
Reports to and performs any other tasks assigned by the Director, College Access, Aim High Gear Up.
