Your Job
In this role you will work with the Group Product Manager (GPM) to develop and implement the strategic direction for the medical copper cable assemblies/interconnects product line as the owner of the P&L. You will act as a focal point for market knowledge, technical support, profitability, forecasts, and planning. These product lines are centralized and will be based out of the Costa Mesa plant in California, and the Nogales plant in Mexico. This role is responsible for developing a business plan to meet profit growth objectives and a customer engagement strategy for execution.
The ideal candidate for this role will have technical knowledge in a STEM field as well as an outgoing personality for the customer facing aspects of this role.
What You Will Do
- Under the direction of the GPM, work with the pricing team to review price strategy and assign prices to quotations, maintain margins and develops pricing strategies for new and existing products
- Strive to be a subject matter expert for assigned product lines to both internal and external customers
- Manage new development activity or existing programs to extend and grow the life of assigned product lines
- Interface with customers alongside an account manager as needed for key projects
- Work closely with the Product Development Manager to bring new product developments to market through customer promotion and marketing tools
- Engage in supporting marketing activities including: sales tools, literature, distribution, stocking, training, and sampling
- Support the GPM by developing and implementing strategic annual business plans, targeting markets, industries, and customers
- Increase sales and market share of assigned product lines in support of divisional objectives and track progress to plan for revenue and profit
- Work with GPM to improve profit and return on investment of assigned product lines, undertake and lead cost reduction, capacity planning, and quality improvement projects
- Learn the competitive landscape and threats from new products that could impact Molex market share
- Explore new technologies and share ideas of new product development or capability expansion to differentiate Molex product offering
- Work closely with the internal development and manufacturing teams in Costa Mesa, CA and Nogales, MX, including regular visits to both sites
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field
- Two (2) or more years of experience communicating with all levels of management OR two (2) or more years of experience communicating with internal or external customers
- Travel to customers and alternate manufacturing plant (Costa Mesa or Nogales) as needed
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience working with product subject to medical requirements/regulations and ISO standards
- Experience with copper cable assemblies, PCBs, injection molding, or interconnects
- Experience with a customer-facing role in the medical field
- Degree in Chemistry
For this role, we anticipate paying $75,000- $90,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
