Staff Development Nurse Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, have the authority, responsibility, and accountability for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing center’s formal and informal education of the staff. Provides resident care education, and functions as a consultant and educator to the nursing staff. Responsible for making recommendations in areas of expertise. Maintains records and statistics reflecting role performance; participates in institution wide committees and projects as indicated and assigned by the Director of Nursing. Staff Development is responsible for assessing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing education for resident services. Provides group and one-on-one in-services and training to staff on their shifts – all three shifts. Is responsible for coordinating the nursing center’s infection control program.
