Come join a dynamic team as a Senior Assistant City Attorney for the City of Burbank. Admission to the Bar of the State of California is required and a minimum of five years’ experience in advisory and/or transactional legal work. Experience in municipal utilities, public works construction, fee studies, reviewing and adopting rates and charges, drafting regulatory ordinances, drafting/reviewing IT agreements such as for software, public works construction procurement and compliance, land use/real property, CEQA review, and/or any other area of law that will prove beneficial to a municipal and/or utility practice is highly desirable. The position primarily involves transactional/advisory work to City departments, implementing public works construction projects, as well as a broad range of municipal law related assignments such as drafting/reviewing contracts/resolutions and ordinances and giving advice concerning Brown Act, Public Records Act and conflict of interest. A candidate for this position should either have a working knowledge of these topics or be prepared to quickly develop such knowledge. The ideal candidate should have excellent legal writing, research, analysis, and communication skills. Resumes will not be accepted in lieu of the City application and supplemental questionnaire.
