Required Qualifications
ALA accredited masters degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) or equivalent and 2+ years experience processing large multi-format archival collections
Attention to detail, task oriented, able to balance multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work independently
Knowledge of archival principles and best practices
Ability to think creatively to provide solutions for our customers
Knowledge of digitization best practices
Comfort with client facing aspects of job
Understanding of metadata standards and tools (ie DACS, EAD)
Familiarity with database programs including FileMaker Pro
Experience with handling a variety of asset types including documents, photography, artifacts, media, and artwork
Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs
Travel required (up to 50%)
Premium Archival Services utilizes the strengths of Iron Mountain Media and Archival Services to provide customers end-to-end solutions from assessment through long term preservation.
The Archivist will be responsible for supporting Premium Archival Services within Iron Mountain Media and Archival Services and providing archival expertise both to internal teams and to external clients. This will involve responding to RFPs, crafting proposals to answer client needs and implementing those projects once won. The candidate needs to be comfortable in a fast-paced and continuously evolving environment. There is a hands-on aspect to this position, which could involve working in a client’s vault or warehouse.
