CDM Smith is seeking a Mid-Level Environmental Engineer to join our growing environmental group in remediation and related services. CDM Smith has several 10-year multiple award nationwide EPA Superfund contracts and existing contracts with USACE and in addition to environmental support to our transportation, water resources, and solid waste contracts.
The successful candidate will have a track record and expertise in supporting feasibility studies and designs and implementing innovative technologies for remediation projects. Candidate will support our technical project leaders on multiple projects or tasks from workplan generation to project execution and final deliverable to the client. Must be able to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities include providing leadership of significant tasks within larger project to deliver service and quality that exceed client expectations, as well as building strong relationships with both client representatives, subcontractors, and CDM Smith colleagues. Participate in staff meetings, staff recruiting, proposal writing, client contact, and regulatory agency interaction.
Provides technical guidance and training to more junior staff. Mentors more junior staff and develops them for future growth within the discipline and firm. May supervise the work of junior engineers on project work. Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline. Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam in states where an EIT is not obtainable (within 18 months of hire or promotion or transfer). 5 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
