Overview
The Assistant Director of Clinical Services aids the Program Director in overseeing day to day program operations to support the delivery of high quality, accessible, and responsive services to clients. The Assistant Director may be assigned direct responsibility for particular program elements, initiatives, or program teams. The Assistant Director provides leadership and professional development to program staff, provides direct support for work with clients and families, and engages effectively with external partners to support client care.
Seneca’s James Baldwin Academy is hiring a Assistant Director to guide grades 5-12 students to success no matter what challenges they may be facing. Our leaders collaborate with Classroom Counselors, Special Education Teachers, and School Therapists to foster classrooms where students’ therapeutic, behavioral, and academic needs are met. In four small classrooms, the staff provide individualized attention and direct instruction in core areas to help students make adequate yearly progress on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals while adhering to a general education standards-based curriculum.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership in the delivery of high-quality client care grounded in Seneca’s values, guided by the principles of Unconditional Care, and in adherence to relevant governing standards
Perform personnel functions for all staff, including overseeing hiring, professional development, evaluation, and termination
Provide direct supervision of program managers, direct care, and administrative support staff, as assigned
Provide leadership to the program staff team, cultivating a program culture that supports safety, engagement, collaboration, and ongoing learning
Cultivate effective partnerships with applicable county offices, school districts, law enforcement agencies, emergency services, and other community providers, and facilitate effective training for partners, as requested
Support the director in management of applicable program facilities to ensure safety and a warm and welcoming environment of care
Provide oversight of the program budget related to assigned areas and take action to ensure financial sustainability
Engage in data-based program assessment activities to evaluate effectiveness and guide improvement
Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques as per Seneca's Equilibrium model training
This may include intervening with the clients' behavioral program through physical management of the clients, if applicable. Training in additional crisis intervention modalities such as CPI may be required
Qualifications
REQUIRED
Master’s degree in Social Services / Social Work / Psychology / Counseling
LCSW, LMFT or LPCC for two years or more, plus the ability to provide clinical supervision
Prior experience working with children/youth and families with intensive mental health needs
TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements
Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies’ insurance policy
Proof of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination or an HR-approved medical/religious exemption

Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM- 5 PM (ability to work occasional flexible schedule when the school needs vary)

Benefits
Staring at $95,594 to $109,594 per year. Actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications
