Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Master' s or PhD preferred
3+ years experience in flight vehicle design & development.
Proven experience creating and implementing highly multidisciplinary simulation models that significantly impact the design, performance, and reliability of products.
Proficiency in simulation or software development tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, Python, Rust, or C++
Experience developing continuous integration and continuous deployment frameworks and automation.
First principles physics based model development experience.
Responsibilities
Develop mathematical models and software simulations to assess and validate aerodynamics, propulsion, and vehicle guidance, navigation, and control capabilities in real-world scenarios. Conduct rapid evaluations of performance and engineering configurations.
Collaborate with hardware and software teams, contributing to flight tests to gather data and validate systems, fostering a swift prototyping and design refinement cycle.
Analyze flight test and simulation data to evaluate system-wide performance, recommending adjustments to vehicle design, outer mold line (OML), engine performance, guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) algorithms, and flight envelopes.
Engage closely with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, mechanical, aerodynamics, propulsion, and software engineers, ensuring the coherence of the product architecture with performance objectives.
Maintain meticulous records of performance evaluations, operational concepts (CONOPs), designs, algorithms, and test outcomes, adhering to internal reviews and regulatory requirements.
Ensure that all modeling and simulation activities related to vehicle performance adhere to industry and defense safety and reliability standards.
Provide specialized expertise in troubleshooting and resolving issues encountered throughout development, testing, and operational phases.
