As a Critical Care Transport Registered Nurse (RN) Coordinator, you will coordinate emergency and critical care services for rotor, fixed wing and surface transport. This position provides continuity of care through the intake of patient information relevant to the transport experience, coordination of transport resources based on nursing assessment of patient needs, and arrangement for timely and appropriate disposition of the patient at a receiving facility.

Current licensure as an RN.

Knowledge of ventilator management, invasive lines and hemodynamic monitoring.
Previous transport experience.

Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and maintains current status of all Critical Care Transport (CCT) and emergency medical response resources at all times through multiple tracking systems.
- Receives patient information for all patients potentially in need of critical care transport services.
- Based on assessment of patient information and in collaboration with CCT clinicians, formulates plan for appropriate transport based on meeting the needs of the patient in the timeliest, cost-appropriate, and efficient manner.
- Utilizes pre-designated algorithms to provide immediate response of CCT resources when emergent response is indicated.
- Collaborates with team members to ensure pre-transport, intra-transport, and post-transport resources are ready and available to meet the needs of the patient.
- Follows progression of all critical care transports to assure safe and timely disposition.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing. BSN preferred.
Certifications:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months.
Competencies (Complexity of Work):
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of recent progressive clinical experience to include at least one year experience in a critical care or emergency department environment. Knowledge of ventilator management, invasive lines and hemodynamic monitoring required.
- Previous transport experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for long periods of time within a confined space.
- Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity of eye hand coordination.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to a normal range.
