Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Social Worker.
The Licensed Clinical Social Worker works with the study physicians and psychologists to conduct psychotherapy sessions as per the research study protocol. He/She prepares the study participants for the experimental medication administration by providing manualized and standardized therapy including disorder specific content (e.g. Cognitive behavioral therapy) as well as preparation before the medication sessions, and debriefing and follow-up after the medication administration sessions. The Social Worker will also be present during the medication session, which will include monitoring of mental state and providing support.
The Social Worker will be in direct communication with PI and Research Project Manager regarding participant status.
Job Responsibilities:
- Protocol Compliance: Ensure that research therapy sessions are carried out in accordance with the protocol, HIPAA and GCP, including but not limited to participant research visits, follow-up, and required documentation. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of study rationale, inclusion/exclusion criteria, and procedures associated with the study.
- Problem Resolution: Identify, respond to, and participate in the resolution of potential and actual problems in study therapy activities and participant activities.
- Professional Development: Maintain/enhance professional growth and development through participation in seminars, professional affiliations and internal training sessions to keep abreast of trends in the field of clinical research, addiction and project management.
- Research Visits: Conduct participant manualized therapy, completion of assessments, and required participant documentation. Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Team Coordination: Schedule study visits, coordinate and communicate with team using collaborative group calendar.
- Attend regularly scheduled research study meetings.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Masters Degree in social work, or its equivalent (e.g. a higher degree from a social work program that is registered by the New York State Education Department as qualifying for licensure), from a recognized college or university
program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)
New York State licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker
Minimum of 2 years progressively responsible experience as social worker.
Effective interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written)
Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently
Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management; must work and communicate effectively with internal and external parties
Effective multi-tasker and problem solver; detail oriented
Interest in and experience in clinical research, especially translational research, is a plus.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $30.22 - $42.00 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
