POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Assists Intervention Assistance Teams to implement Pyramid of Learning Model;
Contributes to a multi-factored evaluation, utilizing appropriate diagnostic instruments and techniques as part of a multi-disciplinary team;
Confers with teachers, parents and other educational personnel on matters relating to the education and/or mental health of children;
Assists staff in implementing or modifying instructional strategies, classroom management procedures, intervention strategies and follow-up activities;
Documents data by writing comprehensive reports with recommendations;
Contributes to the written report of the evaluation team delineating the results of the psycho-educational evaluation for consideration in the development of an IEP;
Counsels individually and in groups with students and/or their parents;
Conducts or participates in in-service training programs;
Participates directly or as a consultant to personnel conducting screening programs;
Reports to and performs any tasks assigned by the Coordinator, Special Education (Child Study) or the Director of Special Education.
