Biola University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, open rank, to begin August 2024. Candidates with expertise in all areas of Business will be considered, but preference will be given to candidates that fill department needs and complement the current faculty strengths.
Responsibilities
This position combines academic and administrative duties and will require activity year-round.
Teach 12-15 credits per academic year (approximately half load) in a combination of graduate and undergraduate programs. Course assignments will primarily consist of courses in Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Leadership, and Management.
Assist in design, development, and oversight of academic programs in entrepreneurship and innovation.
Provide support and oversight for a variety of student entrepreneurship and innovation activities, including startup competitions and the student entrepreneurship club.
Provide support to the launch and activity of the proposed AI Venture Studio.
Develop and strengthen ties to the Christian entrepreneurial community.
Engage in applied business research and faith/business integration work.
Qualifications
The candidate will have a graduate degree in a business discipline from an accredited university.
Preference will be given to candidates who are qualified to teach in the fields of Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Leadership, and Management.
The candidate must have a strong Christian commitment with an interest in the integration of faith and business.
The candidate must possess a commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment, with a dedication to outstanding teaching, scholarship, and service.
Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to relate to a diverse student body.
In addition to the above, preference will be given to the candidate that has one or more of the following:
?Can teach in more than one area.
?Is active in entrepreneurial activities, including experience with launching startups.
?Has experience in developing new programs and curriculum.
?Has experience leading activities such as labs and centers.
?Is active in scholarship in the area of entrepreneurship and innovation and their relationship to the Christian faith.
