From Boysenberry Festival to Peanuts Celebration, Merry Farm to Scary Farm, Knott’s is looking for talented individuals with experience in Show Control Systems design and network configuration.
Responsibilities:
Build, installs, operates, maintains, and troubleshoots theatrical Show Control equipment such as programmable logic controllers, computers/tablets, electronics, integrated circuits, lighting controllers/boards, audio controllers/boards, audio signal routers, motion controllers, media players, media servers, show control software, show control switchers/routers and network switches.
Lead technical crews that Constructs, installs, operates, strikes, and/or Show Control equipment and any other technical equipment as needed.
Assist leadership in developing department training and safety programs as well as documentation of policies and procedures. Recommends policy and procedure changes for their department and assigned projects(s).
Read, understand, develop, and implement plans and blueprints. Translate plans and designers’ concepts into a functional Show Control system
Ability to assemble and install Show Control systems/structures/infrastructure with minimal supervision
Research and recommend tools and equipment to complete / operate assigned projects. Troubleshoot and repair a variety of basic issues and equipment during day-to-day operations.
Qualifications:
This position requires the following education and experience, or an equivalent combination of both:
Education
High School Diploma/GED
Experience
2 - 4 years of experience with show control systems, programmable logic controllers, and entertainment network design and configuration, with proficiency in C++, C#, Lua, and HTML
Minimum Age 18 years of age or older
Qualifications:
Experience with IP-based distributed audio/video systems, animation audio systems, and closed circuit cameras, monitors and recording devices.
Solid grasp of the fundamental principles of electronics, including Ohm’s Law, basic AC and DC circuit analysis, basic digital logic, and extensive knowledge of common electronic components and their uses.
Proficient skills in soldering and general electronic repair.
Understanding of software and coding, such as ladder logic, structured text, sequential function chart, funtion block diagram, and other text/script-based coding languages.
Understanding of audio, video, lighting, and show control software and graphical user interfaces.
Ability to troubleshoot complex systems while managing multiple tasks and priorities.
Ability to read and understand a variety of technical documentation including manuals, schematic diagrams, drawings, labels, color-codes, etc.
Ability to troubleshoot electronic circuits down to the component level.
Proficiency with hand and power tools required.
Available to work nights, weekends and holidays to meet business needs.
Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy,unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
