Summary:
Coordinates all aspects of the credentialing/re-credentialing verification process for assigned contracted clients to meet all appropriate accrediting body, state and federal regulations and client-specific requirements. Assists in conducting delegated audits and handles credentialing/ re-credentialing of health delivery organizations for contracted clients. Maintains expirables in Credentialing system.
Minimum Qualifications:
Formal Education Required:
-Associate’s degree in business or healthcare related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Current NAMSS CPCS certification preferred; obtain CPCS certification within three years of meeting eligibility requirements.
Experience & Training Required:
-One year or more experience in a managed care, medical staff/credentialing, or hospital environment.
Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
-Strong analytical skills and excellent written and oral communication skills, including editing and proofreading, to ensure high quality of communication, documentation, and published information.
-Ability to maintain confidentiality of credentialing information is essential.
-Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel Experience with Adobe Acrobat Professional and credentialing software preferred.
-Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, physicians, leadership, and internal/external customers.
-Demonstrate superior organization skills, priority setting, accomplish work independently and reliably, and multi-task management.
-Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
