POSITION SUMMARY
Grifols, a global multi-billion dollar healthcare company, is seeking to hire a Manager of Accounting and Reporting within the North America Finance Shared Service Center (“FSSC”) organization based in Los Angeles, California. The Manager of Accounting & Reporting is responsible for overseeing the monthly and quarterly close, SOX compliance as it pertains to his/her duties, acting as a point of contact for internal and external auditors, and preparation of multiple sets of stand-alone financial statements and related financial information in accordance with Group Policies, IFRS and/or U.S. GAAP, for key internal stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manage the day to day activities involved in the monthly and quarterly close and the preparation of internal financial statements for all operating companies compliant with IFRS and U.S. GAAP accounting standards. This includes assigning and reviewing tasks performed by Senior/Staff Accountants.
- Collaborate and interpret financial results with key finance stakeholders.
- Review month-end reports required by the consolidation department.
- Assist in the review of the reconciliation of all intercompany transactions and balances for operating companies on a monthly basis.
- Review monthly Balance Sheet account analysis for all operating companies, ensuring that all balances are correct and have proper supporting documentation. This includes managing the corresponding review meetings.
- Provide upfront accounting guidance to business operations on significant events or transactions to ensure compliance with Group Policies, IFRS and/or U.S. GAAP. This may require technical accounting research and memo documentation, including coordination and consensus from the Parent Company.
- Prepare and review audit schedules and provide other requested documentation related to internal/external audits, as assigned.
- Coordinate the preparation and review of year-end consolidation packages for all operating companies in conformance with Group procedures.
- Ensure that financial statements and supporting documentation are prepared and maintained according to Group Accounting Policies.
- Provide accurate and timely posting of all journal entry transactions according to the Group closing calendar and IFRS/U.S. GAAP accounting standards for all U.S. companies. Maintain well organized journal entry files.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of corporate accounting policies and procedures to ensure that these are applied appropriately and consistently in all entities under scope.
- Support post-merger integration of accounting processes for North America and assist with integration of other functions.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS & EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or closely related field is required.
- Certified Public Accountant required.
- At least 6 years of relevant accounting experience is preferred.
- Two years of demonstrated supervisory experience, including history of hiring, training, motivating and retaining accounting personnel.
- Work experience with “Big Four” public accounting firm is highly preferred.
- Experience working in accounting/finance team in a Shared Service environment is preferred.
- Experience utilizing finance/accounting systems, SAP preferred.
- Strong Excel skills and proficient with PowerPoint and other MS tools.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Takes ownership and is proactive.
- Works well with others, yet can lead autonomously.
- Ability to apply advanced analytical skills and provide alternative solutions.
- Ability to design and implement continuous improvement measures to optimize the team’s performance.
- Understanding of internal controls over financial reporting (Sox).
- Willing to travel during a transitional period within the continental U.S.
- Continuous enthusiasm, positive approach to problem solving and excellent customer service.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Frequently sits for 6-8 hours per day. Repetitive movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Occasionally walks and stands. Occasionally bends and twists neck. Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 25lbs.

The estimated pay scale for the Manager, Accounting and Reporting role based in Los Angeles, California is $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year/per hour. Additionally, the position is eligible to participate in up to 8% of the company bonus pool. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on education, experience, skillset, knowledge, where the role is performed, internal equity and market data.
