Under the direction of the Principal Investigator direct supervision of DDL Director of Operation, the Lab Assistant II will assist with daily lab operations. Primary functions are to assist with colonies maintenance, cell culture and placing orders for laboratory experiments and equipment. In addition, the employee will assist with in vivo testing and data collection such as drug dosing, animal husbandry, genotyping, behavioral testing in animal models of Alzheimer's and Parkinson’s diseases. You will assist with preparation of brain tissue and special projects and duties as assigned, and also record and maintain data using appropriate software.
Pay Range: $20.66 - $24.30 Hourly

Required:
Ability to maintain clear and concise lab notes and data records
Ability to work according to schedule and to coordinate work with other lab members
Skill in accurate pipetting techniques, computing antibody concentrations, conjugation of antibody to beads, and other needed lab calculations, following written laboratory protocols
Ability to work with animals.
Ability to work independently, organize and prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
Oral and written communication to provide information, instructions, training and advice.
Knowledge of standard laboratory equipment and supplies.
Preferred:
Working knowledge of drug formulation and solution preparation for rodent administration
Ability to complete, submit, and obtain approval for animal protocols.
Ability to learn rodent surgery and laboratory techniques.
Ability to prepare buffers and other solutions using standard operating procedures.
Working knowledge of all Drug Discovery Lab assays
