The Boeing Company Business Development organization has an outstanding opportunity for a qualified candidate to contribute to the domestic and international growth of Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) as a Commercial Satellites Senior Capture Team Lead. This position will be located in El Segundo, California. We lead the space industry in providing the most agile and innovative space systems that connect and protect our world. Commercial Satellites provides connectivity solutions to customers worldwide in all orbit domains, to support applications including consumer broadband, enterprise, mobility, maritime and aero-connectivity.
Capture Team Leads serve as the primary interface to our customers, and develop and deliver end-to-end solutions through innovation, targeted investment, and unparalleled customer understanding. This is a highly technical and somewhat programmatic role focused on development of customer solutions, and aligning Boeing investments and strategies with the needs of the Commercial Satellite Communications (SATCOM) market. You will be integral in executing new business capture campaigns and leading multi-disciplinary teams to develop competitive offerings for our customers.
Bring your knowledge of satellite systems (capabilities, design, development, and operations of systems), acquisition processes, the industrial base and supply chain, and the commercial satellite market to aid you in integrating a cross-functional team of engineering, finance, contracts, strategy and other disciplines.
Responsibilities:
- Manage relationships with multiple commercial satellite customers worldwide
- Orchestrate the development of technical solutions by performing analysis of customer needs and available resources
- Develop campaign win strategy, establish win themes and discriminators, and perform competitive assessments and business case analyses
- Review and analyze information about the commercial satellite services market (customers) and the Commercial Satellite market (competitors)
- Develop and support strategic planning (technical, programmatic, monetary) to take campaigns from concept to contract award
- Manage cross-functional proposal teams in establishing technical design baselines, developing pricing, and producing relevant customer deliverables
- Manage the internal Boeing approval processes associated with releasing priced proposals to customers
- Advise on portfolio investments and technology research & development to maintain competitive edge
- Provide significant internal and external customer interface support, maintain and advance customer relationships, and lead customer meetings including preparation of presentation materials
- Attend industry conferences to engage customers, keep apprised of competition, and advocate for Boeing capabilities
- Seek out new customers, opportunities, and markets to grow our business
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future. This position is expected to be 75% onsite in El Segundo, CA.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5 or more years of experience in Space/Satellite systems
- 3 or more years of experience leading competitive teams in organizing, executing, and gaining executive approvals.
- The ability to build and deliver executive level presentations and coordinate and drive tasks and actions with senior managers
- Experience leading and partnering with cross-functional teams, involving key stakeholder relationship management
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science in technical field
- Masters of Business Administration
- 10+ years of experience in Aerospace Industry
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master +12 years' related work experience, 18 years' related work experience, etc.).

Summary pay range: Min: 141,950 – Max: 192,050
