The Sr. HR Analyst will manage all staff personnel functions for the departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery including some payroll services for approximately 500+ staff and student employees. You will conduct administrative analysis and resolution of complex departmental issues pertaining to staff personnel matters including but not limited to staff recruitment; staff compensation; interpretation of policy or contracts, and due process; benefits consultation; performance evaluation and merit tracking; personnel records management including archiving and retrieval. You will coordinate new-hire, transfer, and separation process; provide consultation to staff and faculty supervisors and managers by proposing classifications based on duty and salary requirements and assist HR Director with Employee Relations matters. The incumbent will serve as backup in the absence of the Sr. Payroll Manager.
Pay Range: $61400.00 - $121400.00 Annually

Required:
Demonstrated working knowledge of and ability to read, understand, interpret and apply accepted personnel principles, policies and practices.
Excellent mathematical skills to accurately calculate salaries, ratios, leave accruals, retroactive payments, and other payroll transactions.
Advanced skill in setting priorities, meeting deadlines and following through on assignments when faced with conflicting workplace demands.
Detailed knowledge of all policies such as vacation, sick leave, compensatory time, holiday pay, shift differential and overtime for the purpose of managing an accurate system of time reporting.
Detailed working knowledge of various types of payments such as premium overtime, straight overtime, evening/weekend shift differential.
Demonstrated advanced skill in Word, Excel, Outlook and Access. Working knowledge of Query Database (QDB)/Cognos.
Proven ability to communicate with tact and sensitivity in electronic and verbal communications.
Advanced skill in maintaining equanimity when faced with difficult or equivocal situations.
Basic knowledge of contract and grant funding.
Demonstrated skill in working in a fast paced, high volume office.
Demonstrated skill in maintaining confidential information.
Demonstrated skill in working under frequent interruptions and/or distractions.
Detailed knowledge of Credentialing Policies and procedures as they pertain to the appointment, compensation, and benefits of Medical Staff.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field and/or five years’ experience or the equivalent experience and training.
Ability to handle confidential information with tact, sensitivity and diplomacy. (Required)
Excellent verbal communication skills to enable presentation of information on a one-on-one basis or before an audience.
Excellent written communications skills to enable drafting/finalization of various materials from memos to manuals.
Excellent organizational skills to manage a heavy workload
Skill in completing heavy workload within established time frames
Preferred:
Demonstrated detailed knowledge of and skills in using the on-line EDB & PTR Entry/Update system (UCPath).
Detailed knowledge of UCLA Benefits/Payroll/personnel policies and procedures.
Demonstrated knowledge of university health, welfare and retirement benefits, including forms and materials.
Knowledge of the appointment process of clinical staff in the School of Medicine
Knowledge of medical staff/group policies and procedures
