The Lundquist Institute is looking for a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor 1/WIC Nutrition Assistant to join our team. (Internal Candidates only)

Compensation $17.00-$27.14

Required Skills & Qualifications:

The position of the Breastfeeding Peer Counselor 1/WIC Nutrition Assistant (BFPC/WNA) is responsible for providing nutrition and breastfeeding services and support for low-risk women, infants, and children participating in the WIC Program. The BFPC/WNA performs nutritional and breastfeeding risk assessments. She conducts enrollments and certifications of WIC Program applicants and participants. The BFPC/WNA provides these services to WIC Loving Support (LS) participants and their family members during pregnancy and six months postpartum. The BFPC/WNA manages a caseload and documents her interactions electronically in the Peer Counselor (PC) Database and the WIC Information System Exchange (WIC WISE) database.

Minimum of 3 years' experience working as a Nutrition Assistant I in the WIC program or equivalent. Personal breastfeeding experience of 6 months exclusive breastfeeding followed by continued breastfeeding with the addition of solid foods; knowledge of breastfeeding, including common problems and their solutions.

•Certifies applicants and participants according to prescribed WIC Program regulations and guidelines
