OVERVIEW:
The General Maintenance Technician assists the maintenance department in a timely, helpful, and courteous manner while maintaining a clean and organized shop, parts room, and surrounding areas. This position is responsible for picking up new, used and/or rebuilt parts from various vendors. Under close supervision, performs basic preventive and remedial maintenance and repairs of truck/trailer and/or automotive vehicles. Assists mechanics in completing more complex assignments.
Base Compensation for this role is $22.00 per hour.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The general maintenance associate is responsible for keeping the site clean and organized. This includes, but is not limited to:
Maintain and repair heavy mechanical and/or automotive equipment under close supervision.
Safely operate a forklift and company vehicle
Pick-up new, used and/or rebuilt parts from various vendors to decrease downtime in the shop
Keep parts room clean and organized
Preserve cleanliness and organization in waste oil area
Empty trash containers regularly
Maintain, support, and promote a safe work environment while complying with all of SC Fuels’ safety rules, policies, and procedures
Perform other job-related duties as assigned by direct supervisor
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a valid California Class C driver’s license or be able to obtain a California Class C driver’s license prior to beginning employment with SC Fuels
Capacity to safely operate a variety of hand tools and shop power equipment
Aptitude to follow oral and written instructions and read, write, speak, and understand English
Ability to prioritize and organize tasks
Positive attitude and critical thinking skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Required to pass SC Fuels' forklift certification course
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
