About the role
The Farm Operations Training Manager will be responsible for all aspects of farm operations training, from design to implementation. This includes coordinating, scheduling, conducting and documenting On-the-Job (OJT) and Instructor Led Training (ILT). This also includes designing training plans and materials for new farm deployments and making updates for process changes. This role will work with farm leadership to develop and deliver training to increase the effectiveness of the farm and accelerate our learning culture for the site(s).
What you'll do
Develop and deliver training to new Farm Operations team members and managers on successful performance in their role, aligned to Plenty’s SOPs, Work Instructions, regulatory compliance, and safety protocols
Conduct ongoing assessments to identify knowledge / skills gaps and to identify process / procedures and/or training required to enhance operational knowledge and success
Maintain and support the scheduling of training activities including all required training for the production process (e.g. classroom instruction, systems training, etc.)
Develop and deliver training for changes to equipment, processes or SOPs
Provide remedial training and/or coaching as needed
Manage the administrative aspects of operations training such as coordinating, scheduling, finding subject matter expert (SME) faculty, and documenting training
Maintain operations training records that document attendance and assessment completions
Work with farm leadership to identify opportunities to improve farm effectiveness or productivity through training
Collaborate with other functional teams to ensure all operations training materials are consistent with the most recent SOPs, Work Instructions, or processes
Work with Food Safety and Compliance team to ensure all operations training and training documentation is consistent with SQF requirements
Assist in the evaluation and measurement of operations training program effectiveness
Support the Ops team in other temporary supervisory duties or responsibilities as needed

What you'll bring to the table
5+ years experience facilitating learning or technical training
2+ years experience delivering hands-on training in a manufacturing or production environment, ideally in larger scale greenhouse or food production. Experience with indoor vertical farming is a plus.
Excellent communication and people skills
Well organized and methodical. Basic program management skills
Intermediate experience with Google Suite
Experience developing training programs and materials
Exceptional facilitation and presentation skills
A good understanding of OSHA compliance, as well as federal, state, local regulations
Attention to detail
Supervisory experience is a plus
Ability to travel up to 25%
