KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Must have knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration, organization, budget and administrative management; statistical and research methods; administrative survey techniques; office automation, software applications such as MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to prepare clear, concise, accurate, complete and logical reports; conduct analytical studies and surveys; work independently with little direction; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; meet schedules and timelines; work confidentially with discretion; interpret, apply and explain policies, procedures, rules, regulations, laws and cases; analyze situations accurately and recommend effective course of action.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Any combination equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in public administration or business administration, and one year of experience in a responsible administrative capacity for a public agency; a Master’s degree in public administration may substitute for one year of experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License.
EXAMINATION:
Applications will be reviewed for relevant experience, education and training. Applications must be detailed and complete for proper evaluation. Candidates will start at step 1 of an eight step salary range unless there are special exceptions in accordance with the Personnel Rules.
